Time flies and it is already almost four months since our new Junior Full Stack Developer, Akin Ekici, set foot on the moon for the first time. It has been a pleasure since day one to have him in our crew and we’re very happy to finally give you the chance to get to know him better.
So Akin, what do you do when you’re not at work?
Then I’m at home, playing with toys and my two-year-old daughter. Or we go to some playground nearby. When she is asleep, me and my wife take the opportunity to watch a movie together. I also love to cook, and always make sure to cook something extra good on the weekends.
What did you do before you set foot on iGoMoon?
I have studied the Computer Engineer industry at Cankaya University in Turkey and I worked for about four years with WordPress development before I started at iGoMoon. Before that, I have worked at various restaurants, so I learned to cook a lot of different foods from different cultures.
Important question. You’re buying scooped ice cream, do you order a cup or a waffle cone? And which flavor?
Without a doubt - I order a waffle cone. According to me, ice cream is only good with waffle. One scoop, and only the vanilla flavor. I can't risk missing out on a good taste experience, therefore I avoid trying other flavors, which my wife thinks is boring…
Besides coding, what did you dream of working with when you were a kid?
At first I wanted to be a building engineer, but then computers appeared to me. My dad was a construction entrepreneur, so when I was a kid I got interested in building houses. I used to play with soil, stones and wood, created my own toys and built small houses with all the details.
Do you have a favorite movie, and why is it your favorite?
Right now I don’t have a specific movie on my mind, but many Swedish movies have become my favorites. I like comedy and drama, and I have got the idea that Swedish ones are usually either comedies or dramas? If I have to choose one, I have to say that the Swedish movie Nobody owns me (Mig äger ingen) is my number one. I am that kind of person who either has to laugh or cry when I watch a movie (you may not see that I cry, but I do). And that was one of the movies that really impressed me, because it felt like it was the reality I saw.

1. What do you listen to?
I don't listen much to music except what Göran plays at the office. I don't like having the control over deciding what music to listen to.
2. What makes you angry?
Someone who tries to help in the kitchen when I cook.
3. Best feeling?
When my daughter runs and hugs me when I get home.
4. Favorite dish?
Grilled, juicy lamb racks with just salt on them.
5. If you could meet anyone you wanted, dead or alive, who would it be?
Someone who lived 2000 years ago regardless of who, so I could ask what it is like to live at that time.
How would your friends describe you?
Depending on how well and for how long I have known the person, the description may differ. A new friend can describe me as nice while others will say funny. Though both would probably say calm.
What do you look forward to most about working on iGoMoon?
I look forward to celebrating the year 2026 together at iGoMoon with an achieved goal.
