On the first of February it was time for the entire team at iGoMoon to pack the weekend bags and jump on a (very early) train towards the Swedish small town, Västerås. Our final destination was the chic and well-known Steam Hotel where we chose to spend this year’s first conference. The combination of a luxurious environment, the best possible company and an inspiring agenda. Yes, the expectations of the day were high. And we were not disappointed...

Västerås, here we come!

Everyone arrived on time and we were ready to jump on the early morning train from the Stockholm Central station - the first conference of 2019  couldn't have started better. And it only kept getting better as we were met by the outstanding ceiling height, the cozy atmosphere and beautiful decor of the Steam Hotel. Standing tall with 18 floors and 100 year old history as a steam power plant, the hotel offered an industrial feeling, yet with the highest possible cosiness. We can say that we would not mind staying here for a few extra days..

Workflow - the toolbox for efficiency that lasts

Many cups of coffee and sandwiches later it was finally time to kick off the day. This conference we chose to focus on the theme "efficiency and self-leadership”. Since a strong self-leadership is a fundamental prerequisite for everyone who works at iGoMoon, we were very excited about digging deeper into the subject.

Of course we would not have been able to do this all on our own. Therefore we invited a true professional, Jerker Davidsson from the company iManagement, who specializes in trainings about "sustainable efficiency through self-leadership". Jerker guided us through everything from the brain's structure and function to the importance of prioritizing tasks and smart techniques for increased focus. We also got plenty of relevant and hands-on tips in terms of how to handle incoming information and how to structure our daily work in order to optimize our way of working and achieve the best possible results.

In addition to all new insights and valuable eye-openers, Jerker also helped us develop guidelines for our workflow and to put together a watertight structure that really fits iGoMoon and how we work.

Time to get into the weekend spirit..

After an intense and incredibly rewarding day, the clock struck check-in. And if it wasn't for the fact that a three-course dinner was waiting around the corner, I don’t think none of us would mind staying in our luxurious hotel rooms.. But the limbic system in the brain allowed the craving for food win this time, and it was definitely the right decision. Besides being a team that loves delicious food, we also enjoy to hang out together (and laugh), so it was a blast to spend 2019 years first February dinner together!

For those of you who thought we threw in the towel right after dinner were wrong. The towel actually hung out with us a little longer. Namely, to the seventh floor, to round off the evening at the hotel's Voltage Lounge with its 800 sqm spa. At last, we all longed a little too much for our comfy beds with stretched sheets and tomorrow's loaded breakfast buffet. But not least to go back to Stockholm and start a new week in the office!
